Keynote Speakers
Considered the 'rock star' of makeup,
billy b
is a virtual icon in the industry. Since arriving in New York City in 1985 from Aberdeen, Mississippi, billy b has become one of the most successful and sought-after makeup artists in the fashion and entertainment industries.
His work can be seen on the covers of magazines such as Vanity Fair, Harpers Bazaar, French, Marie Claire, Elle, Rolling Stone, Essence and GQ among many others. His work can also be seen on every Red Carpet including The Academy Awards, the Emmys, the Golden Globes, Tonys and the Grammys. He is responsible for Pink's flawless, ethereal looks (U+UR Hand, anyone?), and has traveled on tour as personal makeup artist to Beyonce, Missy Elliott, Mary J. Blige, the Dixie Chicks, Mariah Carey...there are just too many to mention. Billy was mentioned by the late, great Kevyn Aucoin as his 'mentor', has a book releasing 2008 and is currently shooting a pilot for Bravo on his life as supreme MUA.
Syd Curry
rose to fame creating Cindy Crawford's signature mane during the height of her supermodel career, leading to styling Bill Clinton during the MTV "Choose or Lose" campaign. His personal story on his reign in the beauty world to nearly a decade lost in drug addiction is spell-binding. His reverse out of the abyss to reclaim his place as a wanted stylist is even more inspiring. With experience in salon and freelance environments, his work has been in demand and shown worldwide in publications such as Vogue, Vanity Fair, Elle,Glanour, Haper's Bazaar and Cosmopolitan, along with every red carpet event imaginable. He coiffed Daniel Day-Lewis for this year's Oscar win. Additional current looks include Paula Abdul, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Nicollette Sheridan, Brittany Murphy and Mariah Carey.
Lawrence Zarian
turned a fatal runway fauxpas into a fabulous fashion career. As a runway model, Lawrence saw a photographer trying to snap his shot having difficulty with the camera. So he did what he thought was the polite thing to do - he waited for the photographer. When he looked back and saw the runway bottleneck he had created, he thought his future in fashion was doomed. Now, Lawrence is a regularly featured stylist on "Regis & Kelly" (since 2004), "Extra" and hosts "The Fashion Team." LZ, as he is often called, travels the US hosting makeovers and fashion shows, driving his mission.
