Solessence beauty site covers the business of beauty, and sometimes that encompasses fashion & lifestyle. I’m formerly a product formulator, and feel so fortunate to have traveled the world while working in domestic & international sales/marketing and new market development.

I am also a practicing, licensed nail tech and love all aspects of beauty, skin and nail care.  I once owned 300+ bottles of nail polish and thought naming polish colors would be one of the best jobs in the world.  Before I left California, I was headed to NYC. I’d read comedian Sandra Bernhart started off as a nail tech because she didn’t want to waitress while trying to break into her craft. What really resonated was her thought that giving a manicure was like being an artist, working on a very tiny canvas. I loved that image! Detailed nail care had been driven into me since I was a child, and as I already had a habit of giving everyone mani/pedis and nail advice, it seemed natural for me to take that route.

I love writing about all forms of beauty: skincare, makeup, bath & body, tools, and particularly love natural/organic. I love talking to people who forge ahead with a creative path in mind, and share interviews on my radio show, and here, in hopes these stories enlighten and entertain.

Expert’s Corner gives advice from noted industry experts for the beauty questions that are sent in to me. It is surprising and flattering the email that comes in. Especially so with the questions from male readers. Great to know you want to look good!
