Stocking Stuffers: Olivina

Just about the time to start making a list and checking it twice. Fret not, I’ve done the heavy work for you. From now until Christmas I’ll be sprinkling in posts that showcase the perfect stocking stuffers for beauty lovers. Simply give out these favorites to end up on everyone’s nice list for next year!

I know, there are two camps of people: those who think soap is a bad gift to give and those who think it is splendid idea. As long as you aren’t dishing out Ivory, I am totally in the latter camp. Especially when it comes to quality.

Olivina Napa Valley has a lovely line of products that are perfect for gifting. The packaging alone is enjoyable; good weighted papers, ribbon, lovely colors depicting the tie with olive oil and metallic foils dressing up the product inside. I wish you could see it better in the photo, but the olive tree is gold. Inside, the beautiful squared bar of soap is stamped with the signature tree. LOVE. I would have taken a photo but I could not get it out of the box and in the shower/sink/wherever fast enough. It had a nice cure and lasted a good month I’d say. Well worth getting as a gift.

This hand cream comes in a pearlized tube which makes the greens and pinks and golds jump out. Stunning. At 2.5 ounces it is perfect for travel and carrying around in the purse. The oils consist of olive and grapeseed, so this is an excellent formulation for someone with dry skin. It sinks in quickly but definitely has extra oils.

I received these items in the new Honeysuckle Rose, but the products also come in Olive, Fig, Lavender-Bitter Orange and Meyer Lemon.  Honeysuckle Rose was a little herbalish for my skin chemistry.  I have always been a huge Meyer Lemon fan so I would think this in the bubble bath would be mindblowing.  My MIL is a fan of bitter orange, a scent I’ve only been able to successfully find at Gumps.  There is something for everyone here.

This line is so pretty it is perfect from office trade to in-laws and there are enough items that you’ll be able to pick and choose combos if desired.  Stuff those stockings !

The previous Stocking Stuffer recommendation is here.

Product sent for promotional consideration.  I liked it so much I wrote about it.

Happy Halloween: Lollipop Logos

Some couture candy you can sink your teeth into.  Massimo Gammacurt’s lolli-pop Icons book is filled with edible pop culture. Originally started as an internet experiment, the lollipop icons were a huge hit and warranted a book. Brands have never looked so appealing.

Amusing how the McDonald’s is reminiscent of artery-clogging golden goo.

I love this MTV one for the sheer beauty of color and movement.

You know you want to get one. Just do it.
