I’m a finalist in the 2013 Nails Magazine Cover Contest – please vote

I’d appreciate your help! Please vote us into the top 3 here right now!  https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/2013nailscovercontest

Every year the leading trade publication for manicurists, Nails Magazine, holds a cover contest.  The winning photo graces the January cover, and it is all done through vote. I have been working on a number of new looks, and decided to have photographer Alan Charles shoot one of them on my client-turned-willinghandmodel, Mary Beth.

Imagine my excitement in finding out that the design I’d entered made it in the top 10 finalists!

Inspired in part by my love for hammered metals (and this Josie Natori belt and cuff) I created a nail to capture the continued trend for metals in the upcoming seasons.  I like to think of this as a “concept car” nail.  My Hammered Copper nails are accented with a pointer finger “rock formation” that mimics Rainbow Druzy with copper accents.

Please take a moment and help make this the January 2013 Nails Magazine Cover by voting for #4 at this link: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/2013nailscovercontest

This is the image on the voting survey.  Voting closes November 5th, so there is not much of a window.  You may vote for #4 and up to two other covers, and there is only one vote per email address.  Share with as many friends as you like.

Thank you for your vote!  I could not have done this without the help of Alan D. Charles and Mary Beth, and we appreciate your support!

Chanel is the Pitts, Take 2

When I read “the journey” or whatever it is we are on would continue on October 17th, I thought they might be able to redeem themselves. Did they have a continuing story or did they fly Pitt out to redo the campaign? Meh. They spliced up the original and inserted what actually looked like a Chanel commercial. I hate to be so hard, but this was just utterly off the mark from a brand I adore. I don’t believe it was the use of a man. It was that it was shot unlike any other campaign before it. Had Brad been styled and groomed and well lit it would have been one hell of a show.

Now this next piece…this, this I love. It is captivating and, even though I am a Coco Mademoiselle fragrance kind of girl, makes me want to rush out and get a bottle of No 5. Learn more about the history of the scent:
