Brookfield, Wisconsin native, Adam Stockhausen, was up for an Academy Award for Best Production Design for 12 Years a Slave. That Oscar went to the lavish Great Gatsby, but we say it’s still an honor to be nominated!

75 years ago, and just three days before the Hollywood opening, The Wizard of Oz premiered at Strand Theater in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin to see how the film would fare in front of a Midwest audience. Test marketing, alive and well.

A lot of moaning and groaning has been heard I over the Internet since CND announced (quietly) the discontinued products for 2014. Among them, the very popular Silver VIP was give was given a lead to check out Akzentz Luxio’s Silver Effects. Looks pretty close to me:

The bonus about the microfine glitter in the topcoat is that you have at least one less step to complete. You can find multiple glitter and effects topcoats in Akzentz Luxio line. This is a pro only product.

This was an amazing season! Most interesting was that the Fall 2014 had a decidedly non-fall feel. People just are not ready to think cold weather again.
If you haven’t already had your fill from Facebook or Instagram , I’m working this weekend to catch up. Tutorials and overviews to come.

A little highlight was finding out NY Daily News had me on tape (see below) doing the geometric Opening Ceremony nails – such spectacular colors! We actually had a planogram to follow for this design from our lead. Fun challenge!

The Man is keeping me down! Old Man Winter, that is. And down away from New York. Seems the planes are having a ton of troubles keeping up with deicing. Incoming flights are getting cancelled left and right. If I actually get out today (I’ve been trying since 6:15am), I’ll have updates for you from Fashion Week. Yep, it’s that time again. Fall 2014!

Back behind the scenes on Sunday for a photo shoot of private collection and bespoke jewelry. On one pose was an incredible $100,000 diamond ring, with another $100,000 stacked on another finger. Heavens! Thanks to the amazing photographer, models, makeup artist and owners at Atrio. A visual feast was had.
Naughty model broke nail on set. ***Stay calm and glue on***
