It’s an exciting week around here at Casa de Solessence – son turns 8 in a few days, and we are getting ready to party! Of course, it all starts in the classroom, so when I had to think of how to keep the kiddies happy, my thoughts turned to cookies. And when I thought of cookies, I thought of Sweet E’s Cookies, Y’all! Owner Elizbeth (the Sweet E for sure) has been tantalizing everyone in her feed for months with gorgeous displays of her vanilla almond sugar cookies with vanilla almond royal icing. She’s got beer mugs and dresses and any number of themes, but after a consultation with her we opted for rounds and football shapes because they ship better. Her recommendations were right, and they arrived today in perfect condition. It was such a huge box I thought our order of 24 must contain 240.
Not only were they beautifully bubble wrapped, but when we opened them up, found each cookie was individually wrapped. So pretty!
Son asked for camouflage, and these are all colored and drawn by hand. They are huge! And they smell and taste fantastic (what, we had to approve them before they could go to school) .
There was even a little surprise tucked inside for me. Look, that’s my logo! With. Pink. Glitter.
If you’ve got an event coming up I highly recommend these fabulous creations. Take a look at her page and you can see how creative she is. Contact Sweet E’s Cookies, Y’all on Facebook for questions and ordering.
We all want to see Brad Pitt rep Chanel. We just would like him to not look slovenly and coming off a bender.
I never thought I could feel disdain for a brand that pushes great purses, polishes and perfumes, but after debuting a French manicure on the runway and now using the Haight Ashbury version of Brad Pitt for their Chanel No 5 commercial, I feel those double Cs stand for Crazyx2. Let’s get back on track, peoples. I’d laugh, but I’m weeping. If he had to look so unkempt, couldn’t they have run with this version?
This look was born out of a client needing a look to match two formal events, one with a gold gown and the other blue gown. Using a gold glitter base to mimic the gold sequined dress, a metallic but neutral brown is layered over the top in sweeping motions from left to right. The brush strokes are intentional to create the design. The resulting look is a “wrap” effect, as if the nail has its own Mink Wrap. Where the look is somewhat monochromatic for the first event, these metallic neutrals set the tone for striking metal accessories for the second event.
This look can be created with a number of colors for magical effects this holiday season.
