My Life In Pictures: 10 year Anniversary

antiguakiss_web The 8th celebrates 10 years of marriage for me and my long-suffering husband.  I can’t believe how fast it has gone by, and feel so blessed with our son.

Sorry, we aren’t supermodels!  I wanted to share this photo from that day.  With the turn of the century, gray was starting to come back into force (and remains strong 10 years later) and I wanted something different.  I was able to find some beautiful hand painted French silk  for the fishtail train and then hand sewn in crystal centers. It made for a lovely evening gown afterward.  Shockingly, I was able to find  matching shoes (which I am not wearing in the sand).

Did you design your own dress? I’d love to see your photos.  It was wonderful and a tear free-for-all at the same time.

My favorite detail about this photo is the cloud in the upper right.  I often ponder whether God was giving us the sign things would be A-Ok, or jokingly forming rabbit fingers.

Exclusive Video: Gilles Montezin Bridal

The women, the men, the dresses – there is too much eye candy in this video!  Nando was on the scene for Solessence at the Gilles Montezin Bridal showing.  If you remember from an earlier interview, Gilles mentioned his fabrics were “like frosting” and you will see how true and flowing and buttery the pieces are. Stunning workmanship. I need to get married again to wear a Montezin gown. Which one caught your eye? I love the fans and the back waterfall.

Gilles has another hit on his hands with Ugly Betty, creating a dress for their new season promos. His designs will be featured in Brides, The Knot, and Premiere Bride in 2010.

Launch: Gilles Montezin Bridal

Gilles Montezin celebrated the launch of his bridal collection tonight in New York City, and Solessence was there to capture an interview and sneak peeks at the new line. The Opera Collection is based on romance and beauty, and the dramatic detailing of dress. The invitation only cocktail party was host to numerous bridal industry representative giants such as The Knot, Mark Niemierko (UK’s leading wedding planner), Mark Ingram (NYC Bridal), and Anne Chertoff of Brides Magazine tweeting away.
