Purple Lab/HSN Launch Party

It is a beautiful thing to see dreams come true, and Karen Robinovitz’s beauty brand launching on HSN was a personal peak for her.  I didn’t get a tally on final numbers, but an update to  Thursday is that 4400 Silk Sheets had sold up from 600 just the day before!  That number has certainly pushed up and over that at this point.

Figenza Premium Vodka will be shared soon.  It is a beautifully packaged, smooth, fig flavored vodka.  I made up my own fruit filled concoction I call Figenza Fruit Cocktail.

Imported from Greece and sold in NY/NJ, Figenza Vodka needs to become available nationwide.

Review: Sexy Makeup – Purple Lab NYC ‘s New Line

Hello everyone, the HSN launch of new cosmetics line Purple Lab is finally here!  Founded by Karen Robinovitz (trend reporter for Women’s World Daily, author and style authority), this line is all about amazing active ingredients and a fun, sexy attitude.

The show kicked off on Thursday with Red Sole Huge Lips Skinny Hip.  You’ve seen me talk about this yummy tasting lip plumper before, and on launch day it SOLD OUT!

In a few hours Day 2 of the launch will commence and I can’t tell you how excited I am to be a small part of it!  We’ll be getting together to be among the first to sample the product and support Karen during her Friday night session. *shop*shop*shop*

OMG, the lips on the mirror slay me.  This is not boardroom stiff makeup. It is a little serious, a little sexy, a lot fun.  Luvah continues the plumper tradition in a darker (left) stain that is simply WOW.  When I tried it with the Silk Sheets foundation, my lips were perfectly colored.  Very beautiful.  The right side 3D portion threw me a little at first.  It is pearly, almost grainy.  It gives a beautiful frosted look, and when dabbed just in the center of lips, really highlights the kisser, or can be applied over all to frost the look.

CheekImplants

Cheeks Implants: Inspired by runway looks, this is a creamy blush that glides across the skin while plumping, lifting and enhancing cheek bones.  Contains collagen, hyaluronic acid and nylon.
Special HSN Price – $26

This produces beautiful matte cheekbones! Cream blush is usually super glossy and sticky, something I don’t want on my cheeks .  Cheek Implants is as dry as you can get without being a powder!  It created enough depth and definition to know I could hit pan on this. I have the peach, which was dark enough to contour easily, and am dying to try the rose gold.

Review: Huge Lips Skinny Hips

Here is the latest post on the this brand by Purple Lab and Karen Robinovitz

When I first received my tube of Huge Lips Skinny Hips lip gloss, I was just a smidgen skeptical. The taglines for the product include “Double Duty Beauty” and “The Yummiest Lip Plumper Equipped With Hoodia (That’s right girls, the appetite suppressant).” Hoodia is widely reported to work well, but in such tiny amounts? More on that later.

I love this product.

  • Packaging: Humorous purple hourglass shaped outer box. Inner clear lip tube.
  • Color: I have Red Shoes. It isn’t too dark, and is stunningly complimentary.
  • Feel: There is a slight tingle to the product. Not so much it hurts, but enough to notice.
  • Look: This is a matte/soft sheen product.
  • Wear: Non-stick, no problem with hairy lips (if you know what I mean)
  • Taste: The taste and smell are wonderful. Although there is saccharin involved I also believe one of the natural components is adding to the sensation.
  • Angle: The use of Hoodia is for a reminder, rather than active weight loss additive. The story is if you wear the gloss, you’ll remember to watch what you eat.

Formulator Karen Robinovitz has a fun backstory at her Purple Labs website. I’m hoping to swatch these colors, because I feel it is very difficult to judge on the website. There are also many layers to the site, so make sure you rollover to get apt product description, arty movies, etc.

Natural/Organic gals: Even though there are a number of oils, this product does not fall into either category.
