She’s Got the Look: Emma Roberts at Sundance Film Festival

How did “Homework” actor Emma Roberts get her glow on at Sundance? Well, a little Fiddy (50 Cent) and Chase Crawford sandwich action helped I’m sure, but the real prep came from makeup artist Sonia Lee and Votre Vu.

Lee admits Roberts has “gorgeous young skin” off the bat, but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t benefit from treatments. Lee says, “I started with Votre Vu SpecialEyesIntensive Eye Treatment before I applied makeup, and used a bit of Amour d’Ore multi- vitamin oil for face, body and hair to prep her skin and keep the moisture in. Champagne Kisses Enhancing Lip Balm made her lips feel soft and gave me the perfect base for lip color.”

An easy routine to look so fresh, no?

A little coinkydink – I just opened a package to find the Votre Vu Champagne Kisses, and wow. It absolutely melts onto the lips, leaving them very soft and supple. This is the perfect antidote to winterized plaster lips. I think it’s perfect for color base and alone as protection. It also contains Parsol MCX, a sunscreen. No wonder it made an appearance at Sundance.

She’s Got The Look – Marisa Tomei – Sundance Film Festival

Many years ago around the time Marisa Tomei was nominated/won her Oscar, she was on a talk show discussing a dress malfunction that led her to Chanel and an almost out-of-body experience where they didn’t have a dress to accommodate and so they gathered as many beautiful silk scarves as they had and the magical fairy-seamtresses sat round her and whip-stitched a gown to her body on the spot.

I still remember the little needle and thread motions she made as she recounted the story of her up until then little secret, and the giddy excitement in her voice. It is in the same vein makeup artist Olaf Derlig shares what he used for the actress at Sundance Film Festival:

“I had an amazing result using Votre Vu today on Marisa Tomei. Getting Marisa ready right after she arrived from the airport going straight to her premiere it was very important to give her a nice fresh, glowey look and perfect skin appearance.”

Derlig used Wrinkle Eraser and Luxe Lips for the actress and called it a “must have product” when you need to look perfect.

Catherine Keener kept it loose and casual for her Friday arrival at Sundance. Hairstylist Stephen Lewis worked on her look for both day and night, and gives us the breakdown on how Solessence readers can achieve the same look:

1. Lightly spritz hair with water and apply Leonor Greyl Serum de Soie Sublimateur, working it in.
2. Dry hair and apply a small amount of Eclat Naturel on the ends.

For the evening look (not pictured):

“I applied Serum de Soie Sublimateaur to her wet hair and then blow-dried it with a large round brush. I then applied Mousse au Lotus Volumatrice to the crown of her head for volume. I finished the look with Eclat Naturel. A little goes a long way and makes the hair look very polished.”

It’s all about product, product, product. Leonor Greyl is the brand Madonna travels with on tour.
